One of the latest releases from Bear & Son Cutlery is the company's all-new Model 61103 Pocket Knife, released under the company's Bear Edge brand. This new daily carry folder is purpose-built to provide users with an inexpensive, quality blade designed to handle a range of daily tasks.

The attractive exterior of the design is enhanced from the company's specially made handles, which are machined from aluminum and finished with an all-black finish. Diagonal cuts running along each exterior surface provides enhanced grip, while ergonomic cuts ensure that the handle fits into a user's hand naturally when the blade is deployed. Additional aesthetics are provided through a center scale that features a bright-red finish, making the EDC knife stand out from the usual crowd of all-black carry blades. The scale features prominent jimping, which helps to anchor the handle into a user's palm for additional control over the blade.

Of course, the core of the Bear Edge Model 61103 lightweight pocket knife is the drop-point blade, machined from 440 stainless steel for durability and edge retention. The blade measures 3.5 inches long and pivots on ball-bearing washers that allow it to be easily deployed from a folded position. One-handed opening is also facilitated, thanks to built-in thumb studs located on either side of the blade. Each blade features a taper-ground edge and a matte-black finish. After the blade is opened to its deployed position, a sideliner lock springs into place to keep the blade secured into place.

The overall length of the knife, with the blade deployed, is 7.75 inches. When folded, the knife measures a scant 4.5 inches. Total weight of the knife measures 4.3 ounces. The Bear Edge Model 61103 EDC knife includes a reversible pocket clip for tip-up carry and retails at a suggested price of $59.99.
