If it’s the second day of SHOT Show 2024, it must be time for another Editor’s Picks. Here’s another round of cool things that caught our attention on the floor of SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
KelTec SUB2000 Gen3. KelTec’s latest generation of pistol-caliber carbine has the same folding mechanism whereby the barrel folds back along the receiver, making a super short, easy to transport carbine, but new for the third generation is a rotating fore-end. This is important if you want to attach a red-dot sight, yet still maintain the folding capability. In addition to the full-length Picatinny rail on top of the barrel for sights, there are M-Lok slots along the sides and bottom of the SUB2000 for any attachments you’d care to add. Currently available for Glock-style magazines. MSRP: $499.
Tokarev TBP 12 UC Shotgun. Okay, so this one made the cut simply for the wild Hydrodip finish. It’s a savvy move for the company, as it absolutely grabs one’s attention walking by the booth. The Tokarev TBP 12 UC shotgun is a semi-automatic bullpup with an 18.5-inch barrel, 3-inch chamber, five-round detachable-box magazine and polymer stock. All this for an MSRP of $369? That’s definitely eye-catching indeed.
And speaking of eye-catching, we simply have to include of the latest Desert Eagle handguns from Magnum Research. This particular version is the “Dueling Katanas” model (not dueling banjos, that’s something completely different…) made in conjunction with Iron Monkey Rifle Works. Of course, it’s chambered in .50 AE and no MSRP is available at the time of this writing. But, really, if you have to ask…
On the far more practical side is the new Mini-Shot M-Spec M2 Solar red-dot sight from Sightmark. Enclosed-emitter sights are super popular right now, as they are less affected by environmentals like rain and snow and offer greater durability under harsh conditions. This model has a 3-MOA dot with a claimed 20,000 hours of run time, thanks in part to the solar panel on top of the unit. It uses the RMR footprint and has a side-mounted battery compartment. MSRP: $299.97.
Rounding out our Day Two picks is the new Warne Skyline Lite bipod. Available in three configurations (ARCA, Picatinny Quick-Detach and standard Picatinny), the Skyline Lite offers 44 degrees of total cant range, aluminum construction and one-hand adjustability. The legs lock in place at 0, 45 and 90 degrees and have 13 different height adjustments. The feet are removable and can use standard Atlas-style feet for solid purchase on a variety of terrain. MSRP ranges from $224.99 to $284.99 depending on configuration.
