Colt CZ Group’s global firearms manufacturing network has expanded to include the Colt CZ Hungary facility. Colt CZ Group now has a majority share in the site and fully controls all production.

The new firearms manufacturing plant will boost production capacity to meet growing global demand for CZ’s commercial, military and law enforcement products, along with its newly designed firearm platforms. All processes will be overseen by CZ specialists, renowned worldwide for their engineering and manufacturing expertise.

This partnership between Colt CZ Group and the Hungarian government, which began in 2018, will continue to supply military-grade CZ firearms to the Hungarian Armed Forces and produce small arms for global export. The investment and technology transfer from CZ in Uhersky Brod, Czechia, includes cutting-edge manufacturing processes, robotics, fully automated turning and milling centers and advanced finishes. Production will maintain the same quality, reliability and exceptional shooting comfort that modern militaries and shooting sports enthusiasts have come to expect from the CZ brand.

Last year CZ Group purchased SwissAA Holding, a high-quality ammunition manufacturer in Switzerland. “This acquisition is part of our long-term strategy to grow not only in the small arms segment, but also in related ones, with ammunition being a natural match to our core products,” said Jan Drahota, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Colt/CZ Group in that announcement.

CZ Group acquired 100 percent of Colt Holding Company in 2021, adding Colt’s Manufacturing and Colt Canada to its stable of firms. The Colt name is a familiar one among enthusiasts and has been a world-leading manufacturer of firearms since it was founded by Samuel Colt in 1836. The company, which has its manufacturing facility in West Hartford, CN, has supplied civilian, military and law enforcement customers in the United States and abroad for more than 185 years.

Ceska zbrojovka a.s. (CZ) is a Czech manufacturer of precision-engineered commercial and military firearms exported to more than 100 countries. Founded in 1936, it initially focused on producing firearms for domestic and international armed forces, but over the years it extended its portfolio with a wide range of domestic firearms for hunting, sport and hobby shooting. Since 2022 CZ has been one of the key pillars of Colt CZ Group.
