I've seen the good, bad and ugly both in course makeup and cadre. Often, the been-there-done-that guys like to tell you how cool they are rather than teach. Caylen Wojcik with Central Cascade Precision is not one of those guys. Wojcik saw combat in Iraq as a Marine sniper and served as an instructor at the Marine Scout Sniper school. You might expect his course to be all pushups and mean talk, but it's not. Long-range precision shooting is a technical endeavor, and he creates an atmosphere where you can learn the trade.

Central Cascade Precision's Long Range Rifle Course provides a basic understanding of long-range marksmanship, focusing on the core skills required to consistently hit targets from 100 to 1,000 yards. This course is not taught on a flat range, it's taught in the field along the foothills of the Cascades. What a novel concept—train in terrain like where you might have to perform. Classroom instruction is in a tent, and don't be surprised if Wojcik whips out some MREs for one of your meals. It's like real sniper training without the uniform, yelling or Sergeants with bad breath.
