Cold Steel makes knives and blade tools for everyday carry, tactical, and hunting applications, and now they are expanding their Double Safe Hunter line of folding lock-backs with three available colors: camo, orange, and green.

A compact lock-back knife is a favorite of hunters because of its precise control, strength, and convenient storage in daypacks and accessory pockets. The Double Safe Hunter series delivers all those features and also introduces added security with a rocker lock secondary safety mechanism. The roller lock is shock- and impact-resistant and prevents unintentional blade deployment.

A working knife should also have good ergonomics, and the Double Safe Hunter checks that box with a glass-filled nylon handle and slip-resistant texturing. There is also a pronounced finger groove and curved handle profile to further reduce the chance of hand slippage.

The blade is a wide, 3.5-inch long clip-point design that is well-suited for the slicing movements typically encountered when field dressing big game, and the Double Safe Hunter is made of high-carbon 8Cr14MoV stainless steel and treated to 57-58 Rockwell hardness for a tough, corrosion resistant, and easy to maintain a sharp edge.

The Double Safe Hunter also includes a steel pocket clip for securing in pant or pack pockets, a thumb stud for opening assist, and a through-hole at the back of the handle to accommodate a lanyard.
