Springfield Armory recently released its newest handgun, the XD-M Elite 3.8-Inch Compact OSP (optical sight pistol), which is a great everyday carry gun chambered in 9 mm that comes with an optics-ready slide and the option to add a Hex Dragonfly red dot.

The new XD-M Elite pistol comes with a 3.8-inch match-grade barrel and two 14-round magazines while retaining a compact frame that's great for carry. The handgun also comes with the option to add a Hex Dragonfly red dot, which features a 3.5 MOA dot, has a 16-hour auto shutoff, push-button on/off, and manual brightness adjustment.

Another great feature is the META (match enhanced trigger assembly) system, which Springfield claims is an industry-leading trigger among striker-fired designs. This greatly aids in the accuracy department and makes for a smooth, consistent trigger pull. Conveniently, the XD-M Elite features a removable mag well that so you can add a grip extension, thus turning it into a full-size format with 19+1 capacity.

Weighing in at 29 ounces, the pistol has an overall length of 6.75 inches and carries an MSRP of $818 (with optic).
