First Look: American Tactical Bull-Dog Shotgun

posted on May 27, 2020

American Tactical is introducing a new shotgun model, called the Bull-Dog. American Tactical is a United States based manufacturer and worldwide importer of firearms, ammunition and tactical equipment, and the Bull-Dog is its latest import from Turkey. The shotgun has quick acquisition flip-up sights, a 3-inch chamber and a 3-piece choke tube set, as well as an AR-style charging handle and Picatinny and M-Lok rails for your tactical purposes.

The shotgun offers a contemporary look and modular design while still bringing reliability and functionality to all kinds of different shooters. The Bull-Dog is a semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun with a 3-inch chamber. It has an 18.5-inch barrel and overall length of 26 inches. The bullpup design of the Bull-Dog makes it easy to carry and maneuver inside tight spaces, while still maintaining the punch of a full-sized shotgun and staying within all applicable gun regulations. There is a Picatinny rail system on the bottom of the gun which allows the shooter to use an extra magazine as a foregrip. The shotgun also has Picatinny rails on the sides of the receiver to mount lights and other accessories, along with a Picatinny rail on top of the receiver to mount an optic. In addition to this, the Bull-Dog has removable adjustable open sights, an adjustable cheek rest and features a patent-pending AR-15-style charging handle.

  • Chambering: 12 gauge
  • 3-inch chamber
  • 5-round magazine (Additional five and 10-round magazines are available to purchase separately.)
  • 3-piece choke tube set
  • AR-style charging handle
  • Flip-up sights
  • Adjustable cheek rest
  • Picatinny and M-Lok rail
  • Color: Black

So, if you're looking for a contemporary shotgun with a bullpup feel then the Bull-Dog shotgun might just be the ticket. MSRP for the Bull-Dog shotgun from American Tactical is $499.95, and more information about the shotgun and other firearms and equipment from American Tactical is available at

What is the Greatest Defensive Skill?

You can say what you want to about your favorite defensive school or those advanced-fighting techniques you learned, but the greatest defensive skill that a person can develop is simply awareness. I will freely admit that developing effective awareness is anything but simple, but being able to spot trouble before it is close enough to get in your face will certainly save you from a lot of trouble and possibly even some pain and grief.
