STI Firearms is known for making top-quality competition pistols using designs based on a double-stack 1911. It recently used all that experience making high-performance guns for the stress of competition and applied it to the Staccato, a pistol designed for defensive carry by law enforcement and armed citizens alike. Comp-Tac recently updated its line of holsters with new models for the STI Staccato in its International Holster and Blue Duty models. Comp-Tac took the time to work directly with STI International in order to develop an STI-branded holster for the Staccato 2011, and it is now available on Comp-Tac’s website.

The Blue Duty Holster Series is Comp-Tac’s solution for law enforcement customers who want to carry a weapon with a rail-mounted light as well as a red-dot optic. The thumb-release bale is designed to work with most red-dot optics on the market, allowing officers to carry the most up-to-date equipment out there on their sidearms. In addition to the red dot, the Blue Duty holster is also designed to work with an STI Staccato with Surefire X300 weapon light.

As for the International Holster, it is an outside-the-waistband (OWB) holster with a modular mounting design that can be worn on the waist as either a belt mount, a paddle mount or with a drop offset piece. The International Holster is a popular choice for competition shooting, having been chosen as the top holster in International Defensive Pistol Association’s Championship Equipment Survey 8 years in a row. Additionally, it comes in a variety of colors, is optics ready and can be purchased to fit right- and left-handed shooters.

MSRP for the Blue Duty is $145, and MSRP for the International holster is $79.99. More information on these holsters, as well as other gear and accessories from Comp-Tac, is available at comp-tac.com.
