MasterPiece Arms (MPA) is known for making the MPA BA rifle and Chassis System, and now the company is taking over production of the wide-body, double-stack 1911 pistol line from Freedom Gunworks. The first product to be introduced from MPA under this new arrangement is the new line DS9 Hybrid Pistols. These competition-ready pistols provide incredible accuracy and reliability, are available in a variety of finishes and configurations and come with MPA’s lifetime warranty.

All parts of the 9 mm DS9 Hybrid Pistol are machined in the U.S. from bar stock and billet and include no MIM, castings or forgings. MPA machines the full-length, steel light rail 5-inch frame, slide, MPA 416R stainless bull barrel, stainless steel beavertail/grip safety, stainless steel ambidextrous safety, stainless steel slide stop, firing pin stop, ejector, mag well, 7075 black anodized aluminum grip and other components for optimal fit and reliability.

The DS9 Hybrid Pistol also includes a Koenig hammer, sear and disconnect as well as Wolff Springs and a custom-machined aluminum trigger shoe. The pistol has a 2-pound trigger pull and a true one-piece, tool-less guide rod. The FGW slide serrations with slide lightening cuts on the slide create less reciprocating mass, and each pistol is hand-built, including lapping the slide/frame interface. The DS9 ships with a custom MPA single pistol case with one MPA 140 mm magazine.

The Accuracy X Multi Sight patented Modular Sight System allows the user to switch between slide mounted optics to iron sights in mere minutes. The DS9 Hybrid Pistol is available in either an Iron Sights or Optics Ready configuration. The Iron Sights model includes an Accuracy X Sight Base with a Kensight Bomar Style Adjustable Rear Sight and Front Sight Blade. The Optics Ready configuration includes an Accuracy X Red Dot Sight Base (customer’s choice) and Front Sight Blade (Co Witness only available in select models).

MSRP for the DS9 Hybrid is $2,999. For more information on MasterPiece Arms and their product line of rifles, chassis systems, and accessories, please visit masterpiecearms.com.
