Last year, Walther released the Q5 Steel Frame pistol, with billet-steel construction, upgraded trigger and other competition-specific touches. For 2020, the company has shortened the barrel and slide, reconfigured the beavertail to make it more suitable for concealed carry and recessed controls for greater concealability. While a tad on the heavy side, that helps with controllability and shootability, so it's a tradeoff that each concealed-carrier has to make on their own.

I got a chance to try out the Q4 Steel Frame at Industry Day at the Range before SHOT Show 2020. The weight really does tame recoil to a stupidly low level, allowing rapid follow-up shots while making it much easier to keep my eye on the red dot. Walther's Q4 Steel Frame is a smart step for the company and highlights its dedication to the concealed-carry market as well as the competitive.
