New for 2020 Video: SIG Sauer Cross Bolt-Action Rifle

While, yes, SIG Sauer has offered bolt-action rifles in the past, they've tended to be collaborative efforts with other manufacturers. Until now. With the introduction of the Cross, SIG now has a bolt-action rifle completely its own. With a lightweight chassis, M-Lok attachment capability and easy configurability, the Cross is billed as a hunting rifle, although it's appeal is certainly greater than that. We had the opportunity to talk with SIG at the range event about the Cross, and to try it out on the range.

For a lightweight rifle, 6.5 Creedmoor is an excellent fit (.308 Win. and SIG's new proprietary .277 SIG Fury are also available) with an 18-inch-long, medium-profile barrel. The two-stage trigger is excellent, and making shots out to 500 yards (that's as far as the range had targets) was easy to achieve. With weights varying from 6.5 to 6.8 pounds, a folding stock and a variety of adjustability, the Cross has a lot to like.
