IWI US, Inc., a subsidiary of Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) Ltd., rolled out the all new Masada optics-ready pistol in 2019. The IWI US Masada is a 9 mm, polymer-framed, striker-fired pistol developed to provide an advanced solution for the modern battlefield.

Each feature on the Masada was carefully selected based on input from military personnel, law-enforcement officials, and gun enthusiasts alike to create a top quality pistol for a variety of applications. The Masada features fully ambidextrous controls and three interchangeable back-straps, enabling it to fit a wide variety of hand sizes. The Masada was designed with a low bore axis for reduced perceived felt recoil and was built from the ground up to endure the elements while maintaining IWI’s legendary attention to detail and reliability.

“This is our first entry into the striker-fired pistol market, and we are very pleased with the results. The Masada incorporates a milled-slide, which provides a secure and convenient place to mount an electronic sight for quick and easy target acquisition. This, combined with an extremely competitive retail price, makes the Masada a serious contender for civilian and government customers,” said Jeremy Gresham, director of sales and marketing for IWI US.

The frame of the pistol is made of high strength, impact-resistant, fiberglass-reinforced polymers. Like all IWI firearms, it is specifically built to withstand all types of military use and abuse in extremely harsh environmental conditions. The Masada uses a modular, serialized, high-grade steel trigger mechanism housing that is easily removed, allowing simple and easy disassembly and maintenance.

The trigger on the Masada was designed with the shooter’s accuracy and safety in mind. The trigger has an average pull of 6 pounds with a clean, crisp break and a positive reset. The built-in trigger safety on the pistol prevents it from firing unless the trigger is pulled.

The Masada is optics-ready right out out of the box and includes interchangeable mounting plates for the Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint, SIG Sauer Romeo 01 and Vortex Venom red dot sights.

The IWI US Masada pistol has an MSRP of $480. Additional information can be found at the IWI US website at iwi.us.
