The original Galco Vertical Holster System (VHS) has been a proven success all across the globe. Thousands of these holsters have been used by US military personnel fighting overseas, and countless others are currently in use by US and international law enforcement. The Galco VHS is the holster of choice for those who prefer traditional vertical carry style but who want the concealment of Galco’s Miami Classic shoulder holster.

In 2019, Galco has improved the VHS even further. The new VHS 3.0 design brings a reshaping/redesign of the harness straps, replacement of harness screws with a key-hole harness fastener attachment, and adds an innovative new tie-down system.

A key component of the new Galco VHS 3.0 shoulder holster system is the spider harness. All four points of the spider harness can pivot independently and are connected by our clover-shaped, trademarked Flexalon swivel back plate. This, when combined with along with patented swivel connectors, results in a holster that works with virtually all body sizes and shapes.

The wide harness straps on the VHS 3.0 are recontoured to aid in comfort and concealment, and the VHS 3.0 also features Galco’s improved key-hole harness fastener system which replaces the earlier screw-and-post system. This new setup results in greater security, ease of assembly, and greatly reduced chance of fastener loss.

The VHS 3.0 also introduces a new tie-down system that is simple to use, compact and concealable and fully ambidextrous. The fully ambidextrous VHS 3.0 comes complete with vertical holster, harness, ammo carrier, tie-downs and a set of harness fasteners. Optional modular accessories and components for the VHS 3.0 may be purchased separately.

Currently available for just for semiautomatic pistols, a version of the VHS 3.0 for double-action revolver will be coming out soon. MSRP on the VHS 3.0 is $249, and more information is available at galcogunleather.com.

My friend and I have a few different handguns we use on a regular basis. Some are for competition, some are for personal defense, some are for casual shooting and I even hunt big game with a handgun.
