The 10mm cartridge was designed in the '80s to be a service round for law enforcement, but fell out of favor and was replaced with other options, as .40 S&W first saw favor in LE circles only to be later supplanted by 9mm. In recent years, though, 10mm has undergone a bit of a renaissance, thanks to handgun-hunting enthusiasts and those looking for a more-powerful personal-defense option, and the new optics-ready Springfield Armory XD-M OSP in 10mm delivers many of the features you want in a hunting or defensive handgun.
Out the box, the slide on the 10mm XD-M OSP is milled to accept a red-dot optic, and three adapter plates are included to allow you to mount most common red-dot optics on your gun. If you’re not ready to rock the red dot just yet, a cover plate is included to protect the optic-mounting threads. The XD-M OSP features 5.3-inch threaded barrel, with suppressor-height sights that can be co-witnessed to your red dot, allowing the iron sights to be used in conjunction with the optic.
The Springfield Armory XD-M OSP has a 15+1 capacity and has an integrated accessory rail which allows you to attach of lights or lasers to the frame of the pistol. Three interchangeable backstraps allow you to fit the pistol to your needs and work with the Mega-Lock grip texturing to give a secure fit in your hand and help tame the power of the 10mm cartridge.
