2A Armament is rolling out its new AR 22LR, a .22 caliber AR-pattern rifle, for 2019. The AR 22LR weighs just  3 lbs, 4 ounces, making it easy to sling onto your shoulder, maneuver or transport to the range.

The patent-pending bolt configuration on the 2A Armament 22LR is designed for maximum reliability and consistency, and an optional light or heavy hammer spring gives highly skilled shooters a platform to match their skills. The AR 22LR has a Mission First Minimalist stock to provide a consistent cheek weld without adding unnecessary bulk, and when teamed with the MAGPUL MIAD Grip, provides the shooter with a very stable shooting position.

The 22LR AR features a 2A Armament Aethon or Balios Lite Gen 2 lower receiver made from 7075-T6 billet aluminum. The lower is type-III anodized and features a flared magwell for faster reloads. The upper is also machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, and the bolt is titanium, with a patent-pending aluminum buffer.

The aluminum 16.5-inch barrel is fluted and features a rifled steel insert that has a 1:16-inch twist rate. At the end of the barrel is a threaded muzzle with 1/2x28 TPI muzzle threads to allow you to mount a muzzle device or suppressor. When not in use, the barrel comes equipped with a thread protector.

The handguard on the AR 22LR is either a 12-inch 2A Armament extruded Aethon handguard or  BL G2 rail (depending on the model ordered) with M-LOK capability and an aluminum barrel nut. A Bravo Company charging handle and titanium takedown pins top off the rifle and add to the lightweight nature of the AR 22LR.

The AR 22LR ships with one 15-round magazine and has an MSRP of $1,649. For more information, please visit 2a-arms.com.
