Following on the release of several Beretta Model 92-based designs from companies like Langdon Tactical and Wilson Combat, Beretta USA joined the fray with its own custom, competition-ready handgun model in the form of the Beretta 92X Performance pistol.

Each Beretta 92X Performance model is constructed with a Vertec all-steel frame combined with a Brigadier-length slide and barrel, all designed to provide shooters with enhanced speed for competition stages. To enable an even faster cycle time, the Beretta 92X Performance uses a skeletonized hammer with a competition standard hammer spring. The new Extreme-S trigger mechanism decreases trigger-reset distance by up to 40 percent while preserving the factory safety features, particularly the gun's secure drop safety.

Weighing 2.98 pounds when unloaded, the steel frame and Brigadier slide of this competition pistol increases the pistol’s stability and reduces muzzle rise when shooting, which gives competitors the ability to produce faster split times, as well as get the muzzle back on target faster and easier.

The Beretta 92X Performance also features an ambidextrous frame safety that is available in three different profiles, which make it adaptable for various hand types and different IPSC divisions. Each pistol also features sawtooth-style front and rear serrations on the slide and the checkering on the front and back-strap improve a shooter's handling and ensure maximum grip during slide manipulation in all conditions.

Shipping with two 15-round magazines with included rubber bumpers, the magazines are designed to withstand fast magazine changes during the rigors of competition shooting. The Beretta 92X Performance pistol will be available to American consumers in late summer 2019 and retails for an MSRP of $1,399.
