The Ruger Precision Rifle (RPR) is a feature-packed precision rifle that delivers match-ready options at a budget-friendly price, right out of the box. The modular bolt-action design of the rifle is well-suited to any style of long-range shooting and upgrading the stock barrel to a Helix 6 Carbon Fiber Barrel is easy, thanks to Ruger's proprietary barrel-nut system.

Every barrel for the Ruger Precision Rifle that Helix 6 makes is made 100% in the USA and is built using a match-grade 416R stainless steel core which is then wrapped with a proprietary carbon-fiber layup. This design dampens barrel harmonics for outstanding accuracy, and  button rifling and hand lapping each barrel improves accuracy while minimizing fouling.

Helix 6 barrels are offered in three popular long-range calibers: 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor and 308 Win. The 6mm and 6.5 Creedmoor versions feature a 24-inch barrel with a fast 1:8 twist that is needed to help stabilize sleek, high-BC bullets. The .980-inch diameter straight bull contour barrel weighs only 2 pounds 12 ounces on the 6mm, and one ounce lighter for the 6.5 Creedmoor.

At just 2 pounds 9 ounces, the .308 Win. is even lighter, with a 24 inch length and a 1:10 twist for optimum long-range performance. All Helix 6 barrels for the Ruger Precision Rifle are theaded to allow for easy installation of an aftermarket muzzle brake or suppressor.

All that is needed to install a Helix 6 barrel is an AR-style barrel nut wrench and the caliber-specific headspace gauges. However, installation by a gunsmith is recommended for maximum accuracy and precision.
