One of the most-popular concealed-carry positions used by today's CCW holders is the appendix-carry spot, located just off front-center line of the body in the 1- to 2-o'clock position. Fans of this carry position enjoy the ease with which guns stashed here can be accessed quickly when needed, and the spot also allows for more-comfortable carry and concealment for those on the go. Providing a new holster option for appendix-carry fans in 2019 is DeSantis Holster with a redesigned, 2.0 model of its Inner Piece rig.
Constructed from padded ballistic nylon, the DeSantis Inner Piece 2.0 features a holster pocket for both a firearm and a reload, both critical components for a solid self-defense setup. The body-side of the holster features a padded cushion along with a raised sweat guard, protecting the gun's finish from moisture and oils from a wearer's body as well as making for a more-comfortable carry experience. Both the gun and reload are positioned to provide users with immediate access to both their gun and reload, allowing for rapid drawing and reloading compared to holsters and magazine carriers mounted in traditional spots behind a wearer's strong-side and support-side hips.
Each DeSantis Inner Piece 2.0 holster attaches to the belt with a polymer C-clip mounted on a cant-adjustable pivot point. This allows the mounting point to swing 360 degrees, enabling wearers to find the carry angle that's most-comfortable for their EDC setup. Ride height is also adjustable, thanks to three holes in the body of the clip. The holster is also tuckable, since the C-clip pulls away from the body of the holster, providing room for wearers to tuck in a shirt over the gun and holster mouth.
The DeSantis Inner Piece 2.0 is available to fit firearms from 17 different manufacturers and will accommodate most of today's single- and double-stack concealed-carry guns with barrel lengths of up to 4 inches long. The holster can be had with a black finish only, and the suggested retail price on the rig is $39.99.
