New for 2018: RISE Armament Legacy Rifle

One major initiative from RISE Armament, a relative newcomer in the AR market, is to garner support and raise funds for U.S. veteran organizations, particularly Folds of Honor, a group that provides scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen or disabled military vets. To support this noble venture, the company first developed its Patriot Rifle, a special design built for benefit auctions only. However, the response to the rifle was so great that the company followed it up with the RISE Armament Legacy Rifle, a limited-edition design that's available for purchase.

Like the company's original Patriot Rifle, sales of the Legacy Rifle also benefits Folds of Honor, and each rifle features the Folds of Honor organization logo as well as the company-applied American-flag Cerakote finish. Additionally, the gun is also built with the RISE Armament Patriot trigger, a drop-in unit that's also sold publicly with a portion of proceeds going to Folds of Honor.

“The Legacy Rifle is our third product we’ve developed to support veterans and their families through Folds of Honor,” said Matt Torres, president of RISE Armament. “Our entire team is incredibly proud to continue our mission to make a lasting impact through the products we create. Folds of Honor is making a difference that will carry on for generations, and we’re humbled to be a part of that.”

Looking past finish elements on the gun, the RISE Armament Legacy Rifle is chambered in .223 Wylde and equipped with the company's 16-inch CB-160 barrel, a lightweight design machined from 416R stainless steel, button-rifled, air-gauged and built with a mid-length gas system that mitigates felt recoil and avoids the added wear that comes from an overgassed rifle. The barrel features a 1:7-inch twist rate and a threaded muzzle with a 1/2x28 TPI thread pitch compatible with most muzzle devices and suppressors on the market. Included with the rifle is the company's RA-107 compensator, which battles recoil and muzzle rise, keeping the rifle on-target with ease and lessening felt recoil by 67 percent.

The barrel is surrounded by the company's RA-902 handguard, a free-float design that measures 15 inches long and is compatible with all M-Lok accessory attachments. The Patriot trigger included in the gun features a special nickel-boron coating on its internal surfaces, which reduces friction and provides a smooth, crisp, 3.5-pound trigger pull. The trigger also features a short release that allows for quick follow-up shots.

Each RISE Armament Legacy Rifle weighs 6 pounds, 12 ounces and measures 32.25 inches in oerall length. Each gun ships with a single magazine and a special RISE Armament Patriot Rifle case. The suggested retail price on the gun is $1,899.
