To provide fans of the full-size Vickers Elite 1911 with an option sized right for daily carry use, Wilson Combat developed the all-new Vickers Elite Commander in 2018, complete with the classic 4.25-inch barrel available in either .45 ACP or 9 mm.

Each Wilson Combat Vickers Elite Commander 1911 is constructed with a frame and slide forged from carbon steel. The match-grade barrel is machined from stainless steel and features a flush-cut revers crown and fluted chamber. The gun features a traditional bushing-style takedown, having been equipped with a stainless-steel thick-flange barrel bushing located at the muzzle end. The frame and slide are hand-fitted to provide optimum accuracy while remaining reliable enough for defensive use.

On the Professional-size frame, consumers will find the front strap checkered with 30 LPI high-cut serrations, as well as the company's Bullet Proof Round Butt Magazine Well. The one-piece magwell design provides an enlarged opening to facilitate faster reloads, while the exterior of the well includes a rounded contour on its bottom edge to reduce the changes of the gun printing under a cover garment. Other features include a Bullet Proof Beavertail Grip Safety, Thumb Safety and Magazine release.

Other features found on the Wilson Combat Vickers Elite Commander 1911 include a countersunk slide stop, large cocking serrations on the rear of the slide, ball-end mill cuts on the front of the slide and G10 fiberglass-laminate grips with a Vickers Elite logo. The gun is equipped with a 3.5- to 4.5-pound trigger pull and a medium-length pad. The overall length of the gun is 7.85 inches with a sight radius of 5.95 inches. The gun measures 5.6 inches high and 1.3 inches wide. Empty, the gun weighs 39.6 ounces.

Suggested retail pricing on the Vickers Elite Commander in .45 ACP is $3,850, while the 9 mm model retails for $3,960. Each Wilson Combat pistol ships with an accuracy guarantee of 1.5 inches at 25 yards.
