First Look: Law Enforcement LensPen

For more than 25 years, hunters, shooters, photographers and other professionals who rely on clean lenses have carried a LensPen in their kit. The unique molecular-carbon technology contained in the device ensures that the lenses on cameras and riflescopes, no matter how obscured with dirt and oil, can be brought back to clarity. The military took notice of the benefits provided in this all-in-one package, and now, the company expanded its lineup with the all-new Law Enforcement LensPen, constructed with compact size and a new finish.

"The United States military counts on LensPen to keep their optics clean," said Ryan Keating, vice president of sales for LensPen. "The Defense Logistics Agency regularly sources the Original LensPen for scope cleaning, and the U.S. Marine Corps issues a LensPen with every Trijicon ACOG riflescope."

Each LensPen features separate ends designed for use in a two-step process. First, a retractable brush is used to remove all dust and dirt from the surface of the lens. After the lens is cleared of loose debris, users twist a cap off the opposite end of the LensPen, revealing a carbon-coated cleaning tip. The molecular-carbon formula eliminates stuck-on dirt, oil and fingerprints, leaving a spotless lens surface. On the inside of the cap is a carbon-coated pad, which recharges the cleaning tip each time the cap is replaced. The pad provides enough carbon for more than 500 uses.

"Our cleaning technology is endorsed by Nikon, Sony, Leupold, Schmidt & Bender and many other top camera, binocular and scope manufacturers who co-brand with LensPen, because they know LensPen is safe for lens coatings and works in the toughest environments," Keating said.

The law-enforcement model of the popular LensPen is contained inside of a shorter, easily carried unit and features a matte-black, durable finish that's low profile and integrates well into the duty kit of law-enforcement units and other top agencies. These products are perfect for cleaning the optics used on patrol rifles, body cameras, dash cameras and more. The company offers special pricing to agencies and military units.

For consumers, LensPen offers its non-liquid cleaning pen, complete with replenishment cap, at a suggested retail price of $14.95.
