New for 2019: Wilson Combat Paul Howe Signature Glock

posted on December 13, 2018
Collaborating on past projects, such as the Tactical Carbine, Wilson Combat's entry into the world of custom Glock handguns provided another opportunity for retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant Paul Howe to provide expert input learned from years of service with the U.S. Army's Delta Force. With his expert guidance, Wilson Combat gunsmiths put together the Paul Howe Signature Glock, billed as Howe's ultimate tactical and concealed-carry pistol.

Starting in 2017, Wilson Combat began offering a number of à la carte customization options for Glock pistol owners. Notable options included custom grip-stippling patterns, specially fitted barrels, triggers, finish options and more. Shooting Illustrated reviewed several of these options applied to a sample Glock Gen 3 at the launch of this new Wilson Combat venture. However, these options were only available as modifications made to existing pistols that had to be sent into the company. Now, with the Paul Howe Signature Glock, consumers can buy their own custom-built Glock straight from Wilson Combat.

Starting with Gen 4 models of either a G19 or G26, Wilson Combat removes the factory Glock barrel, opting instead for a match-grade, gunsmith-fit Wilson Combat barrel designed to balance reliability with improved accuracy. The frame is also tackled on the Paul Howe model, featuring the tactile, starburst-pattern grip stippling initially available as an à la carte modification. The trigger guard is also undercut, enabling the pistols to sit lower in a shooter's hand for increased recoil control.

Each Wilson Combat Paul Howe Signature Glock also features a tuned action, providing shooters with a smooth, 4.5-pound trigger pull. The top of the slide is serrated to reduce glare, and the pin used in attaching the extended backstrap is expanded to prevent the removable backstrap from loosening under pressure. High-visibility, ledge-style sights have also been added to these tuned-up handguns.

The base price on the Paul Howe Signature Glock starts at $1,500.
