Hogue expanded its knife lineup with several additions to its EX-F02 lineup of outdoor fixed-blade knives, adding new G10 handles to the knives for added benefits to the end user.
"The EX-F02's lightweight, durable design was created specifically with the outdoorsman in mind," Hogue Knives Engineer Scott Bruhns said. "Manufacturing the frames in G10 material adds to that durability and creates a visually stunning knife."
G10 material used in the new Hogue knives is constructed from fiberglass-laminate composite material, formed under high pressure. Hogue chose this material in the construction of its new knives due to the added strength and resistance to harsh chemicals offered by this fiberglass-based material, as well as the added insulation offered by G10.
Hogue uses a particular manufacturing process it calls its G-Mascus system, which creates aesthetic patterns that match those found in the attractive designs of Damascus steel. An added benefit of the grips is the enhanced texture offered by the material, providing a solid grip for users, even under wet conditions.
The Hogue EX-F02 G10 knife is constructed with a stick tang buried deep in the handle for enhanced strength and durability. The blade, available in clip-point and tanto-style designs, is constructed from stainless steel which is heat-treated, cryogenically treated and hand-sharpened to a perfect finish that stands up to whatever owners throw at it.
Other features of the knife include an enhanced top edge and thumb ramp with serrations, along with a tail-end recess that promotes increased leverage and handling when used with a reverse grip. The knife comes equipped with a sheath constructed from polymer that features an ambidextrous auto-retention design and can be mounted easily to any MOLLE-compatible webbing.
