Legacy Sports International announced the addition of the Howa Australian Precision Chassis Rifle to its product lineup in 2017, adding to the company's offerings of purpose-built precision rifle packages designed to provide shooters with a complete range setup at an affordable price.

The Howa Australian Precision Chassis Rifle was designed from the start for long-range precision shooting and features a fully modular chassis-style stock machined from 6061-T6 aluminum that allows shooters to customize the rifle to fit their body exactly. The chassis is equipped with an adjustable MBA-4 stock from Luth-AR, allowing owners to customize the length of pull and comb height for their particular rifle setup. The enhanced flexibility of the gun ensures that shooters can remove an ill-fit rifle from the list of variables that impact making a precise rifle shot.

The chassis system uses an AR-style buffer tube to mount the adjustable stock, providing the ability to swap out the included Luth-AR option with other modular stocks designed for AR-platform guns. Other furniture features on the Howa Australian Precision Chassis Rifle include a Hogue pistol grip and a free-float fore-end that's compatible with M-Lok accessory attachments.

Inside of the chassis, users will find the company's two-stage H.A.C.T. trigger system, which provides a crisp, clean trigger pull. The trigger is supported by a three-position safety. Atop the receiver sits an EGW Guns railed mount that is machined with a 20-MOA decline for enhanced long-range capabilities. For users who purchase the rifle with the scope package, a Nikko-Stirling 4-16x50 mm riflescope is also included with the gun. The optic uses high-quality, fully coated lenses and is constructed on a durable 30 mm main-body tube. Other features of the scope include dual-color red-and-green reticle illumination, zero-stop reset turrets and a magnum-caliber shockproof rating.

The Howa Australian Precision Chassis Rifle feeds from a 10-round detachable magazine and is available in .223 Rem., .22-250 Rem., .308 Win., .243 Win. and 6.5 Creedmoor. Barrel lengths range from 20 to 26 inches, depending on caliber selection.

The suggested retail price on the chassis rifle starts at $1,089 for the rifle only. Scoped rifle packages start at $1,405.
