Dark Storm Industries announced the addition of the new Hailstorm DS 9 mm pistol to its product lineup, giving AR-15 aficionados an opportunity to have all of their favorite AR-style controls and ergonomics in an easy-handling platform chambered in an affordable caliber and compatible with widely available Glock magazines.

“The addition of a 9 mm version DS Hailstorm pistol and SBR to our line gives customers that prefer the 9 mm, whether it is for self-defense or because they are serious Glock fans, two reliable and accurate platforms that are easy to use and maintain, with low recoil and an amazing appetite when it comes to the variety of 9 mm ammo that these guns handle,” DSI President Ed Newman said.

The Hailstorm DS 9 mm is constructed with a specially built lower machined from 7075 aluminum and built specifically to take Glock 9 mm magazines. In conjunction with the magazine-specific lower, the Dark Storm Industries upper receiver provides last-round bolt hold open, giving users an added level of safety and capability at the range.

The company matches up each upper and lower receiver perfectly, eliminating spaces in the receiver fit and ensuring that the guns are built to provide precision-level capabilities to any shooter. The lower receiver features a flared magazine well, along with a built-in ergonomic grip that allows shooters to maintain comfortable control over their pistol.

Other features of the new Dark Storm Industries Hailstorm DS 9 mm include company-made internal and external components. The purpose-built 9 mm bolt-carrier group is made in-house by DSI, as well as an ambidextrous safety selector constructed from billet aluminum. The upper receiver is mated to a 7.5-inch nitrite-treated barrel that is crowned with a muzzle-blast deflector designed by the company. The barrel is surrounded by a 9-inch ultralight handguard with accessory attachment points.

The Dark Storm Hailstorm DS 9 ships with one 17-round magazine and also comes equipped with a pistol grip designed by Hogue, CAA stock saddle cheek riser and Thordsen Customs enhanced buffer tube. The suggested retail price for the pistol is $1,095. Dark Storm Industries also offers a short-barreled rifle model equipped with a Magpul CTR stock that sells for the same price. All NFA regulations apply.
