Hogue Knives announced the launch of its new X1 Microflip knife, which is designed to give users an everyday-carry option that uses an easy-to-deploy flipper blade.

"The X1-Microflip is an amazing piece of precision manufacturing," Hogue Lead Knife Engineer Scott Bruhns said. "Our customers have been demanding a streamlined sub 3-inch Allen Elishewitz-designed knife, and we have seriously knocked this one out of the park. This knife is so full of features it honestly has to be held to fully appreciate the cohesive design and execution by Allen and the Hogue team."

The Hogue X1 Microflip is the first knife in the company's lineup with a blade that measures under three inches. The 2.75-inch blade makes it a great option for users looking for a carry knife without running afoul of most blade-length restrictions. The knife is constructed from CPM154 steel and features a drop-point blade, which is heat-treated and then sharpened by hand. The blade is available with a stone-washed finish or a durable Cerakote coating.

The Microflip is built using the company's button-lock internals, which includes a proprietary blade-retention mechanism. This design ensures that energy is built up before the blade deploys, allowing users to fully deploy the blade with an easy press of the flipper. The push-button lock also allows users to close the blade with one hand, ensuring that fingers are removed from the path of the blade.

The knife's frame is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum, which features a hard-coat anodized finish and includes a number of serrations designed to provide users with a solid grip. The handle is sculpted with an ergonomic grip to ensure that users have a comfortable feel when the blade is deployed. The opposite end of the handle features a pointed impact pommel.

Other features of the X1 Microflip include a reversible pocket clip, which comes ready for tip-up carry. For those who prefer tip-down carry, the company provides a filler plate in addition to the reversible clip.

The Hogue X1 Microflip is available in matte black, gray, flat dark earth and aquamarine finishes. The suggested retail price on the knife starts at $149.
