The latest introduction from Diamondback Firearms is an extension of the company's larger DB-10 lineup. The company released its new DB-10 rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, giving precision shooters a semi-automatic rifle for their long-range competitions.
The 6.5 Creedmoor round exploded onto the precision-shooting scene due to its ballistic capabilities at longer distances over other popular long-range calibers like the .308 Win. An added benefit of the new caliber is the reduction in recoil over similar-length .30-caliber cartridges, giving gun owners a more comfortable shooting experience.
Diamondback partnered with the Mako Group in creating this new rifle, adding in Mako's FAB Defense GL-Shock Recoil-Reducing stock, which provides extra cushion against the already-reduced recoil of the 6.5 Creedmoor.
In addition, Mako also provided an overmolded pistol grip for the gun, adding in a recoil-reducing rubber grip that comfortably fits the hand of nearly any shooter. The grip also features a textured surface that provides a secure grip, even in damp conditions. The grip also provides shooters with an improved angle designed to promote comfort, as well as storage space inside the grip that allows users to secure extra batteries.
The Diamondback DB-10 itself is based on the AR-10 platform and features matching controls to the popular AR-15 rifle, ensuring that users have familiarity. The rifle is built using a 20-inch barrel made from stainless steel and featuring specially designed fluting in order to reduce weight and promote heat dissipation.
The barrel is surrounded by a 15-inch Victor M-Lok handguard, which allows for extra flexibility in attaching accessories while still providing a secure gripping surface for a shooters' support hand. Finally, the barrel is crowned with the company's Double Side Port muzzle brake, which promotes further recoil reduction.
The Diamondback Firearms DB-10 in 6.5 Creedmoor comes in two different finishes: black and flat dark earth. The standard black model retails at a suggested price of $1,229, while the FDE model retails at a suggested price of $1,259.
