First Look: Nosler M48 Independence Day Rifle

Nosler, based out of Bend, OR, is celebrating the birth of America with the creation of a special run of its M48 rifle. The new gun is called the Independence Day Rifle, and a limited run of 25 guns will be made for this collection, providing a select number of users with a precision rifle platform with a unique number of custom touches.

The rifle will feature a synthetic stock dipped in the popular Kryptek Highlander camo finish, along with a laser-engraved magazine floorplate that will feature "We the People" over the image of an American flag, giving a subtle touch of Americana for freedom-loving rifle-shooters and hunters everywhere.

The new Nosler M48 Independence Day Rifle is chambered in the company's novel 22 Nosler cartridge, which was designed by the company to perform in the AR-15 platform with a standard 5.56 NATO bolt carrier, while providing knockdown power that rivals that of the .22-250 Rem.

The rifle features a match-grade stainless-steel barrel that measures 24 inches long and features a threaded muzzle with a 1/2x28 TPI thread pitch, allowing owners to add a brake or a suppressor. The custom action and barrel feature aluminum-pillar bedding along with glass bedding. All of the metal on the rifle is finished with a black all-weather Cerakote coating for added durability.

The Independence Day Rifle is constructed with precision-machined action rails designed to provide the rifle with a smooth-riding bolt. The receiver face is squared precisely with the match-grade barrel, providing users with a rifle that is guaranteed to provide MOA accuracy with Nosler ammunition.

Other features of the gun include a two-position Rocker safety, as well as a Timney trigger that is designed to provide owners with a crisp, clean trigger pull for the utmost in accuracy.

The suggested retail price on the new Nosler M48 Independence Day Rifle is $1,995.
