MasterPiece Arms announced the launch of its new MPA 22BA bolt-action rifle, which is constructed on the company's BA chassis designed specifically for the CZ-USA 455 .22-caliber rifle.

The MPA 22BA bolt-action rifle is chambered in .22 LR, but the company will offer barrels chambered in .22 WMR and .17 HMR for the gun. Consumers will have the ability to change calibers through a simple barrel swap, using the same action and bolt found in the gun for all three cartridges.

The BA chassis is constructed from 6061 aluminum and is machined using the company's CNC horizontal-machining centers that ensure the chassis meets the exact specifications necessary for precision-rifle shooting. The chassis is constructed using the company's "pocketing system," which removes excess material from the aluminum chassis and works to create a stronger foundation for the action and barrel.

The rifle features a CZ 455 rifle action mated to a precision-made Spencer barrel, which is machined from 416RQ stainless steel. The barrel features precision machining with a hand-lapped finish, and the bore is visually inspected through the use of a video borescope in order to ensure that the barrel finish meets the high expectations of precision shooters.

The MPA 22BA bolt-action rifle also features an adjustable butt stock that allows users to customize the length of pull, height and cant of the recoil pad, cheek-riser height and rear monopod height adjustment. Once a custom fit is attained, the end user can lock the adjustments into place through the use of screw sets found in the body of the stock that lock the system into place, ensuring that the setup won't be affected by recoil, transport or any other external factors.

The total weight of the chassis itself is 3.2 pounds. The barrel features a twist rate of 1:16. Barrel lengths can be specified by the customer and range anywhere from 16 inches to 24 inches. Buyers also have the option to thread the muzzle. The gun comes equipped with an upgraded CZ 455 trigger that features a pull weight ranging from 1-3 pounds, depending on the end-user's preferences.

The suggested retail price on the MPA 22BA bolt-action rifle is $1,599.
