Ruger announced the addition of a new model to its popular line of 10/22 Takedown rimfire rifles. The Ruger 10/22 Takedown Mica Bronze rifle features a synthetic stock that is colored in a unique mica bronze tan, which allows the rifle to stand out from the mass of black-stocked rimfires on the market.
The Ruger 10/22 Takedown Mica Bronze is built with an alloy-steel receiver and features a 16.4-inch barrel with a 1:16 right-hand twist rate that features a 1/2-28 TPI threaded muzzle, allowing for the attachment of suppressors and other muzzle devices. The receiver and barrel are finished in a satin-black coating. The rifle comes equipped with iron sights, featuring a gold-bead front sight with an adjustable rear sight.
The overall length of the Ruger 10/22 Takedown is 35 inches, and the total weight of the gun is 4.4 pounds. The rifle feeds from a 10-round detachable rotary magazine and comes equipped with a scope-base adapter that allows for the use of Weaver-style and tip-off mounts for rimfire optics.
The Ruger 10/22 Takedown added a new level of portability and versatility to the company's lineup, providing users with a rifle that could easily be separated into two compact components for easy transport or storage.
The Takedown works through the use of a lever located on the underside of the rifle's forearm. When users push that lever, the forearm and barrel assembly can be twisted apart from the receiver assembly, allowing for quick, intuitive breakdown. To reassemble the rifle, simply insert the forearm assembly into the receiver assembly and twist together to make the rifle ready to shoot.
One of the benefits of the Ruger 10/22 Takedown is the fact that the attachment mechanism, combined with the fact that optics are mounted on the receiver, help to ensure that the gun maintains its zero even after transportation and storage.
The suggested retail price on the Ruger 10/22 Takedown Mica Bronze rifle is $439.
