FN America unveiled a summer savings promotion for customers who purchase one of the company's new FN 509 pistols. The promotion gives three free magazines to those who buy a new 509 between July 1 and Aug. 31, 2017.

"The FN 509 comes with two magazines, either in 10 or 17 rounds," said Tom Scott, director of marketing for FN America. "This promotional offer will give our customers a total of five magazines, making it easier to participate in training courses that typically require five mags and ensuring that more time is spent shooting rather than loading mags on the range."

For those who live in states with magazine-capacity restrictions, 10-round magazines will be provided for the promotion offer. All other customers living in states without magazine restrictions will receive three 17-round standard-capacity magazines.

The FN 509 magazines are constructed with an all-metal body and feature a polymer base plate. Each magazine is finished with a special coating unique to FN magazines that is designed to provide more durability to owners and give them a longer service life. The suggested retail price on the magazines is $49, which means that consumers will receive $147 worth of accessories absolutely free.

To receive the free magazines, FN offers a promotion website that has an online form for consumers to fill out, requiring an address, email, phone number and purchase information about the handgun. Customers will also be required to upload a copy of their purchase receipt. Those who wish can also download the receipt form from the rebate website and mail in all of the necessary information, including a paper copy of the purchase receipt.

The FN 509 pistol is based on the earlier FNS Compact and represents the culmination of FN America's attempt to provide a contract winner for the U.S. Army Modular Handgun System and features a cold-hammer-forged barrel, an improved grip texture and glow-in-the-dark sights. The suggested retail price on the gun is $649.
