Kahr Arms announced the launch of two new pistols at the 2017 NRA Annual Meeting and Exhibits in Atlanta, GA. The two new guns are additions to the company's value-price S Series: The S9 and the ST9 pistols.
The new S Series of guns incorporates a reconfigured magazine base, as well as a new grip design. The new S9 pistol features a 3.6-inch barrel which is constructed with traditional land-and-groove rifling. The pistol measures in at an overall length of 5.9 inches and comes in at 4.5 inches high.
Many of the features on the new gun match up with features found on the company's CW9 pistol, but the S9 includes a number of new highlights. Some of the new features include 3-dot sights, front slide serrations, a frame-mounted Picatinny rail and a grip-mounted ID tag. The gun is chambered in 9 mm and features a total capacity of 7+1. The pistol ships with two 7-round magazines.
The other new pistol in Kahr's S Series is the ST9, which features a 4-inch barrel and measures in at an overall length of 6.5 inches and 5.08 inches in height. The pistol also features conventional rifling, like the S9, and incorporates the new magazine base plate and grip designs.
The pistol also comes equipped with white 3-dot sights, front and rear slide serrations, a frame-mounted Picatinny rail for accessories and an ID tag found on the grip. The gun features a total capacity of 8+1 in 9 mm and ships with two 8-round magazines.
Both of the new pistols in Kahr's lineup operate using a DAO action and use the company's Safe-Cam action system. The guns operate using a Browning-style locked-breech recoil lug and features a striker block that prevents the pistols from discharging without a trigger pull. Both pistols do not feature a magazine-disconnect safety. The guns are also built with stainless-steel slides.
The suggested retail price on the new Kahr S9 is $477, while the new Kahr ST9 retails at a suggested price of $456.
