With the right kind of knowledge and training, a good medical kit carried every day can be a lifesaving tool that is just as important as a concealed-carry gun. The new Micro Trauma Kit NOW! from Blue Force Gear is designed to be an easily carried kit packed with essential medical supplies.

Designed for law enforcement, hunters and a citizen's EDC kit, the trauma kit is easily deployed with a single hand or finger, made easy through the use of the company's BLIP pull tabs. Once the tabs are pulled, the two main components of the kit separate: the outer pouch that is available with MOLLE or belt attachment points and the organizer insert.

The outer layer of the pouch incorporates a cross that can be filled with different inserts to alert individuals to the pack's emergency contents. Black, red and glow-in-the-dark reflective inserts are available. For concealability, the cross can be left unfilled to match the pattern of the pack itself.

Together, the kit measures 6 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep, ensuring compactness for easy carry. The outer pack is constructed using 500D Cordura fabric that is secured using TEX 70 bonded Nylon thread, along with the company's trademarked Ten-Speed military-grade elastic. The total weight of the kit is 96 grams or just over 3.3 ounces.

The Blue Force Gear Micro Trauma Kit NOW! is available with two different fill options. The basic fill option features a hemostatic dressing for wound packing, as well as a 4-inch emergency traume dressing. Six 9-inch lengths of medical-grade tape are included with the kit, as well as a Tourni-Kwik compression tourniquet. A pair of heavy-duty medical gloves are also included for added protection.

The kit is also available with an advanced fill option, which comes with QuickClot combat gauze, two HyFin vent chest seals, a Cleer medical trauma bandage 4-inch flat pack, a decompression needle, six 2x9 sections of frog tape, a size 28 nasopharyngeal airway and a pair of medical gloves.

The Micro Trauma Kit NOW! is available in black, OD green, coyote brown, wolf gray and multicam finishes. Other finish options are available on request. The suggested retail price of the kit with the basic kit supplies is $129, while the advanced-supplies kit retails at a suggested price of $200.
