Okay Industries announced the addition of a desert-tan model of its popular USGI AR-15 magazines, giving users an added accessory that blends with the popular desert-tan finishes found on many commercial AR-style rifles today.

The SureFeed Desert Tan magazines are available in 20- and 30-round configurations and meet or exceed military specifications. The magazines are completely manufactured in the United States and use lightweight aluminum for the magazine body and the floor plate. The aluminum is heat-treated and features a hard-coat anodized finish designed to provide extra durability.

The desert-tan finish is a proprietary coating developed by the company and features a special nano-PTFE compound that decreases friction. The coating also features a boron additive that is designed to improve magazine durability, as well as performance.

The Okay Industries SureFeed Desert Tan magazines also feature a four-way anti-tilt resin follower that features a self-lubricating compound. The magazine body also features a mil-spec stainless-steel spring that works to keep loaded rounds in proper alignment. The follower also incorporates anti-hygroscopic qualities in its resin construction, ensuring that moisture does not build up on the inside of the magazine, which can lead to poor function.

In keeping with the company's standards for mil-spec performance and durability, Okay Industries tests every magazine with a variety of inspections, including weld-integrity verification, feed-lip tolerances and overall material quality. Each magazine is tested for fit and function before leaving the factory.

Okay Industries has origins going back to 1911, and its magazine manufacturing began during WWII, when the company produced magazines for the M1 Carbine. In 1973, the company worked with the U.S. government to produce the standard-issue magazine for the M16/M4 rifle platform. To date, the company has produced more than 30 million magazines for both the M1 Carbine and the M16 rifle.

The suggested retail price for the new Okay Industries SureFeed Desert Tan AR-15 magazine starts at $18.95.
