First Look: Firefield Barrage Riflescope Line

Firefield announced the introduction of a completely new family of riflescopes, giving AR-15 owners an inexpensive optic option that allows them to get to the range and shoot with ease.

The company went back to the drawing board with the new Barrage line, redesigning and improving aspects of the optic's performance through suggestions made by individuals in the firearms industry. According to Firefield, the new redesigns make these optics the best-quality options at their price point.

The new Barrage line of riflescopes is designed for use a short-to-medium ranges, providing users with a mil-dot reticle with illumination options, as well as capped adjustment turrets. The company paid special attention to performance in low-light conditions, incorporating a fully multi-coated lens and an illuminated reticle to provide the best possible performance at dawn and dusk.

The company also aimed to improve durability, redesigning the optic's construction by using a single-piece design for the mount, as well as eliminating as many moving parts in the optic as possible, all in an effort to increase reliability and cut down on potential issues. Firefield claims that its optics have been tested to consistently withstand recoil from up to .308-caliber rifles without issues.

Another addition to the Barrage line is the incorporation of red and green lasers into the optic, allowing users to rapidly engage targets at close range. In the company's redesign efforts, the laser was reconfigured to reduce distance between the bore axis and the laser body, ensuring that the laser can more easily and accurately align with the rifle's bore.

The new lineup features a 1.5-5x32 riflescope option, which can be equipped with either a red or green integrated laser. The lineup also features a 2.5-10x40 scope for increased range, and the 2.5-10x model is also available with red and green laser options.

In a nod to the popularity of the AR-15 platform, Firefield incorporated a BDC reticle into its 2.5-10x models, providing holdover points from 100-500 yards using 55-grain ammo options for .223 Rem.

All of the models in the Firefield Barrage lineup are built to IPX4 ratings for weatherproof, fogproof and shockproof standards. The scopes also come with cleaning cloths and batteries. The suggested retail price for both magnification options in the lineup start at $95.99. Models equipped with red and green lasers will retail at a suggested price of $119.99 and $155.99, respectively.
