Taylor's & Company added two new 1911 pistols to its product lineup in 2017, giving shooters new options for tactical and concealed-carry use.

“We are excited to add additional options to our 1911 lineup,” Taylor's CEO Tammy Loy said. “By adding a 9 mm option alongside our existing .45 ACP offerings, we think concealed carry and 9 mm 1911s will continue to see demand.”

The new 1911 A1 Full-Size 5-inch from the company includes a number of modernized components, including a green fiber-optic front sight, along with a skeletonized trigger and a Picatinny rail that allows users to mount accessories. The gun is chambered in 9 mm and comes with two 10-round magazines.

Other features of the Armscor-made full-size 1911 A1 include a combat hammer, an ambidextrous safety and an extended beaver tail designed to improve comfort and usability. The gun also features angled serrations on the front and rear of the slide to allow for multiple styles of slide racking and press checks. The gun features a Parkerized finish and checkered walnut grips and weighs in at 3.25 pounds loaded. The overall length of the gun is 8.75 inches.

The company's new Compact Carry 1911 features a short 3.625-inch barrel ideal for concealment and also includes a number of other features designed to give users an ideal carry gun. The pistol features snag-free sights and a high beavertail grip safety, along with the 1911 platform's traditional thumb safety.

Other improvements on the gun include angled serrations on the rear of the slide for added purchase when racking a round. The gun also features a combat hammer, Parkerized finish and a set of checkered walnut grips. The gun is manufactured by Armscor and features an adjustable rear sight with a dovetailed front sight blade. The total length of the gun is 8.38 inches, while the total weight is 2.43 pounds loaded.

The suggested retail price on the full-size 1911 A1 is $707, while the Compact Carry 1911 retails at a suggested price of $644.
