Smith & Wesson upgraded its line of M&P 15 rifles through a partnership with Magpul. Together, the two companies integrated Magpul's new MOE SL line of furniture onto the popular AR-15 line from Smith & Wesson.
"We've enhanced the M&P15 Magpul Spec Series of rifles with some exciting new hardware upgrades from Magpul," said Jan Mladek, general manager of Smith & Wesson and M&P brands. "The M&P15 MOE SL rifles incorporate many of the popular slim line Magpul accessories that shooters were adding to their rifles in a ready-to-shoot package, as well as a new Stealth Gray option."
The new M&P 15 MOE SL lineup features several of the latest slim-line furniture products out from Magpul, including the company's mil-spec MOE SL Carbine Stock, MOE grip and a mid-length MOE SL handguard. The upgraded furniture is available in three different options: black, stealth gray and flat dark earth.
"Magpul and Smith & Wesson have been collaborating for almost 10 years," said Drake Clark, Magpul's senior director of sales and business development. "When it came time to refresh the M&P 15 line, we were excited to assist with the development. The new M&P15 MOE SL rifle has the latest SL slim line Magpul accessories, and we know these will be popular with M&P fans."
Another main feature of Smith & Wesson's new line of rifles is the inclusion of a mid-length gas system, providing reduced recoil to the shooter, ensuring that owners can make quicker follow-up shots. Other touches include a Smith & Wesson/Magpul co-branded receiver, along with a Magpul MBUS rear sight, a 5R-rifled barrel that features a 1:8 twist rate and a patented Smith & Wesson flash suppressor.
The new Smith & Wesson M&P 15 MOE SL line of rifles sell at a suggested retail price of $1,239.
