The latest flashlight out of the SureFire lineup is the E1B Backup, which incorporates the company's MaxVision technology.

The company originally developed the light as a backup tool for law enforcement professionals, and the list stands out from the rest of its product family with the use of the MaxVision beam. The beam uses a particular shape in the reflector that works to produce a smooth beam designed for close-range applications, perfect for EDC use.

The light uses a single CR123A battery for power and produces a 400-lumen beam on its highest setting, providing a total run time of 1.25 hours. The light's output on its lowest setting is 5 lumens, which provides a total run time of 50 hours. The Backup is programmed to run with its highest setting first, using a pressure switch mounted on its tailcap.

The E1B Backup is constructed with a hard-anodized aluminum body and features a coated and tempered window, along with a stainless-steel pocket clip that allows for bezel-up or bezel-down carry. The light is completely weatherproof and is O-ring sealed. The bezel diameter is 1.13 inches, while the overall length of the light is 3.87 inches. The total weight, including batteries, is 2.95 ounces.

The suggested retail price on the new SureFire E1B Backup flashlight is $220.89.
