Meprolight introduced its new MicroRDS red dot sight at SHOT Show 2017, giving shooters a miniature reflex optic that can sit atop a handgun slide or be a low-profile optic option on rifles and shotguns.

“We are pleased to take this opportunity to introduce our new product, which is the only one of its kind in the world – the Mepro MicroRDS," said Benny Kokia, vice president of marketing and sales. "Whether on pistols or rifles, the sight delivers a red dot solution that enables quick and accurate shooting."

The MicroRDS features a 3-MOA red dot that allows shooters to easily focus on the target and the optic in the same focal plane. The unit features a 22 mm x 17 mm window that allows for a wide field of view. On rifles, the optic can be used as a backup option for close-up targets. The housing features rugged construction that stands up to shock and harsh environments. The optic is also waterproof and runs off a single CR2032 battery.

In addition to the MicroRDS, Meprolight also rolled out a patent-pending pistol adapter that fits standard slide dovetails and includes self-illuminated night sights as a backup option. The adapter features a quick-release handle that allows users to detach the optic in seconds and use the back-up irons. The adapter can be used with the MicroRDS or with other reflex sights on the market.
