Nikon announced the launch of five new models of riflescopes, all part of its new BLACK optics line, designed for long-range precision rifles and action-shooting rifles, like the AR-15.

For precision shooters, Nikon rolled out its BLACK X1000 scopes, which are available in 4-16x50 mm and 6-24x50 mm models. Both scopes are available with X-MRAD or X-MOA tactical reticles, and each reticle option has matched MIL or MOA turrets.

The reticles come with built-in elements designed to help shooters estimate ranges or maintain windage or elevation holdovers. The company's 4-16x50 mm X-MOA scopes have an illuminated reticle option as well, while the illuminated reticle comes standard on the X-MRAD model and the 6-24x50 mm scope.

Action shooters and AR-15 aficionados also have a new optic in the BLACK lineup: the BLACK FORCE1000 1-4x24 mm optic. The new scope features capped turrets and comes with the company's unique SpeedForce reticle, which uses a double-horseshoe center designed to serve as a quick-reference point for speedy target acquisition and shooting. The reticle also features BDC marks for target holdovers at intermediate ranges. All BLACK series reticles are compatible with Nikon's Spot On ballistic-match application.

The new scopes in the BLACK series all feature 30 mm main body tubes that are constructed with aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. The scopes are finished with a hard-anodized finish, giving each scope body a matte-black finish that is designed to resist wear and weather. All the scopes are built using Nikon's Eco-Glass, which is manufactured without lead or arsenic. Other features on the new riflescopes include full multi-layer coating and spring-loaded zero-reset turrets.

The new BLACK series will be available in Spring 2017. The suggested retail price for the new BLACK FORCE1000 1-4x24 mm is $399.95. The BLACK X100 4-16x50 mm scopes retail for $599.95 with an illuminated reticle, $499.95 without. The suggested retail price on the 6-24x50 mm scope is $649.95.
