Lucid Optics Introduces Tan HD7 Red Dot

The HD7 Red Dot optic from Lucid Optics has been on the market for several years now, offering an affordable alternative to many higher-priced red dot optics on the market. Now, the company expanded the lineup to include a model with a tan protective cover.

The company also recently upgraded its HD7 lineup to a Generation III unit, adding in capped turrets, a new reticle with expanded capabilities, availability of a flash-suppressant accessory, more durable buttons and a more sensitive light sensor.

The HD7 is constructed from a single piece of aluminum and is coated with rubber armor that is available in both tan and black finishes. The unit measures in at 5.5 inches and features an objective lens diameter of 34 mm. The unit includes four different reticle choices, including a 2-MOA dot, a circle-dot, a ranging reticle and a chevron. Each reticle choice can be selected through the use of a selection knob on the left side of the optic. There are seven different illumination levels which are selected through the + and - buttons on the left side of the optic. The unit runs on a single AAA battery.

The unit is waterproof and can be submerged without issue. It is also nitrogen-purged for fogproof capabilities. The unit is also shockproof and is designed to handle up to .458 SOCOM levels of recoil without issue.

The unit includes a Picatinny rail mount and is compatible with a number of accessories, including a flash filter, scopecoat, 2X magnifier and an ADM QD kit. The suggested retail price for the HD7 Red Dot is $249, while the tan model retails for $259.
