LaserMax Launches New GripSense Technology

LaserMax Launches New GripSense Technology

LaserMax announced that it would be improving the technology found in its laser activation systems using the company's trademarked GripSense.

"This revolutionary new technology combines the best of both instant activation and controlled activation into the same product" said Chris Tinkle, chief sales officer for LaserMax. "Our GripSense Technology allows consumers to choose how they want to activate their light and laser.  Your gun, your choice."

The new technology uses capacitive sensing, much like what is found on modern-day smartphones. A detection zone is located on the grip of a firearm in the location where a user's middle finger wraps around the firearm. Once a firing grip is obtained, the sensor detects the finger and automatically activates the light or laser system.

Users will have the option to turn off the light and laser with a simple button push. An option also exists to disable the GripSense activation and rely solely on push-button activation.

The new patent-pending technology will be found in the company's Centerfire light and laser products and will debut at SHOT Show 2017.
