The new H9 pistol from Hudson Manufacturing is a unique handgun with features that are designed to stand out in the striker-fired pistol market.

The gun features a 1911-style trigger and grip angle along with the reliability of a striker-fired design. The pistol also features a low bore axis, designed to reduce felt recoil and improve accuracy and precision.

The flagship gun of the Texas-based Hudson Manufacturing company is constructed with a stainless-steel slide, insert chassis and barrel, steel frame and is chambered in 9 mm. The gun features a double-stack magazine with a capacity of 15 + 1.

The H9 design is aimed at combining the best of both the 1911 and modern striker-fired designs into one platform. The pistol features a 1911-style, single-axis, straight-pull trigger with an integrated trigger safety. Departures from the 1911 design, though, are the striker-fired action and the lack of a grip safety.

The pistol is designed to offer shooters a modular, adaptable platform. Its features include ambidextrous slide-stop levers and a reversible magazine catch. For those who aren't fans of an integrated trigger safety, Hudson offers a replacement trigger that comes without the integrated safety. In addition, the pistol can be modified to include a thumb safety for those looking for traditional 1911 controls.

Hudson worked with several other manufacturers to offer the H9. The front sight on the pistol is a Trijicon HD, while the G10 grip panels were designed and built by VZ Grips. In addition, Hogue Grips designed and manufactured the textured G10 backstrap found on the pistol. Finally, the nitride finish is provided by H&M Processing.

The overall length of the Hudson H9 is 7.6 inches, while the height is 5.2 inches. Total width is 1.24 inches. Unloaded weight is 34 ounces without a magazine. Trigger pull weight, according to the company, measures in at 4.75-5 pounds.

The Hudson H9 comes with three magazines and retails at a suggested price of $1,147.
