The newest addition to the Wilson Combat line of carry 1911s features a compensated barrel that reduces muzzle flip and perceived recoil when using high-powered self-defense ammunition.

The compensator itself is machined into the barrel as a one-piece assembly, so there are no threads or joints to tighten on the gun. The design of the compensator itself is also streamlined to ensure that the pistol will fit into a standard 1911 holster.

The X-TAC Elite Carry Comp is available in both 9mm and .45 ACP. Barrel length is 4.5 inches with an overall length of 8.1 inches and a height of 5.1 inches. Ammo capacity is a standard seven rounds in .45 ACP. Epty weight of the pistol is 39.36 ounces.

Other features of the gun include a compact carbon steel frame with X-TAC tread pattern on the front and back strap. The four-inch slide comes with serrations on the top and rear to reduce glare. The slide also features rear cocking serrations unique to the X-TAC line.

The Wilson Combat X-TAC Elite Carry Comp comes with an accuracy guarantee of 1.5 inches at 25 yards and retails at a suggested price of $3,850 for the .45 ACP version. The 9 mm model sells for $3,960.
