It makes sense, of course. A company known for making sound suppressors offering threaded barrels for popular handguns is one of those [slaps forehead] "Of course!" moments. It just makes so much sense you wonder why you hadn't seen it sooner.

At the 145th Annual Meeting of the National Rifle Association, we talked with the folks at Gemtech. In addition to having a ton of cool suppressors (including one for a Marlin lever-action rifle), the company also has a line of threaded barrels available for pistols.

The Glock G19 barrel offers a corrosion-resistant finish and a thread protector when not covered by a suppressor. The barrels are land-and-groove and have been gauged by Gemtech to insure proper suppressor alignment. Barrels are available for the G17, G19, G26, G21, G22 and G23.

MSRP: $160. Barrels are also available for Beretta and SIG Sauer pistols.

My friend and I have a few different handguns we use on a regular basis. Some are for competition, some are for personal defense, some are for casual shooting and I even hunt big game with a handgun.
