When it comes to putting the brakes on (see what I did there?) there are a whole host of options. The MilSpec A2 "birdcage" comes standard on many rifles, but is a flash hider, not a muzzle brake, so for those looking to change the recoil and/or muzzle climb, a directional brake is desired.

CMMG's SV brake is designed to minimize both of these and is found as standard equipment on the company's competition guns like the Mk4 RCE. CMMG offers many of the quality components that go into the company's line of rifles (we've covered the lower parts kit and receiver extension and stock kit previously), and the SV brake is also available.

When building your own AR-15, or simply upgrading existing components, the more options available the better. The SV Brake from CMMG offers performance in an affordable package that brings competition-level compensation to your AR-15.

MSRP: $64.95.
