As we've discussed in the pages of Shooting Illustrated, one of the essential upgrades for a home defense shotgun is a shotshell holder that attaches to the shotgun directly. While a slip-on holder that goes over the buttstock is imperfect, it adds critical reloads within easy reach of your scattergun.

A better method, though, is a shotshell holder attached directly to the receiver. These holders place the ammunition close to the magazine and even closer to the action, allowing for lightning fast reloads when you need them most.

ATI's Halo side saddle and shotshell holder, shown for the Mossberg line of shotguns, adds two critical upgrades to your defensive Mossie. Not only do you get six additional rounds' capacity added, but also a 6-inch Picatinny rail for optics or iron sights to further enhance your defensive capabilities.

Installation is simple, with the side saddle attaching to the top rail of the shotgun and the shell holders bolting directly to the saddle. All items are constructed of Military-grade III, Anodized, 6061 T6 aluminum and the saddle adds only 5.5 ounces total weight.

MSRP: $119.99.
