Burris's XTR II series has some amazing features at amazing prices. For example, the 1-5x24 mm scope is available in a combination package with a Burris FastFire III micro red-dot sight, the company's AR-PEPR mount and a scope-tube mount allowing the FastFire to be mount offset to the scope for quick transitions. This package retails for around $1,000, which is quite a bargain for all of those practical options. The scope itself has an illuminated reticle, .1-mil adjustments, 9.3 mils of adjustment range and a choice of reticle designs. Other models include a long-range model with both first- and second-focal plane reticles. How does that work? Well, the crosshairs are in the first focal plane, so they can be used to range targets, but the center dot is in the second focal plane, so it remains a constant size for easier engagement. A very neat system in a scope that is priced quite reasonably for what it offers.
