Remington slug ammo recall

Remington Ammunition has issued a safety recall for some boxes of Remington Premier AccuTip Slugs - PRA12. The company has determined the shells may contain an incorrect propellant. Enthusiasts in possession of the ammunition need to discontinue their use immediately and check their boxes or cases to ensure what they have on hand is not part of the limited number included in this safety recall.

Remington 12 Gauge Premier AccuTip 2 3/4-inch sabot slugs with lot codes L05ZC527, L05ZB527, L06ZB527, L06ZC527 are affected by this safety recall. Use of loads from those lot numbers could result in firearm damage and/or personal injury.

The lot codes are located on the inside flap of the ammunition’s individual box. Below is an example:

Description: Remington 12 gauge – 2-3/4” Premier AccuTip Slug

Index Number: PRA12

Part #: 20727

Lot Code: L05ZC527, L05ZB527, L06ZB527, L06ZC527

Anyone with full cases of the ammunition on hand can also find the information printed on the outside of the container. The part and index numbers are on the white sticker and lot numbers are stamped on the side of the box.

Examples of both locations are seen in the above image, provided by Remington Ammunition.

Those in possession of the ammunition from these lot codes, need to discontinue its use immediately and contact Remington by phoning (800) 243-9700. The company’s Consumer Service Department will arrange for the return shipment. Once received, replacement ammunition will be sent to the affected enthusiasts. There is no cost to owners for shipping or the replacement ammunition.

Only Remington 12 Gauge Premier AccuTip 2 3/4-inch sabot slugs with lot codes L05ZC527, L05ZB527, L06ZB527, L06ZC527 are affected by this safety recall.
