The Weaver brand is well known in the firearm industry for its scopes, bases, rings and other optics-mounting products. New for 2022 is a line of multi-slot bases for the Savage Arms Axis line of rifles. The Axis line of rifles is a popular line of bolt-action guns for affordable long-range shooting.

Weaver is now offering three variations of the multi-slot base for the Axis rifle. The first is a 0 MOA slot base with 8-40 screws. This is the company’s “standard” multi-slot base. The second Weaver option is an extended version of the base that also uses 8-40 screws. The final option is a 20-MOA extended multi-slot base with 8-40 screws. All three bases are made of aluminum to offer a balance of strength and weight economy.

The Weaver multi-slot bases are compatible with rings made for both Weaver and Picatinny style bases. Weaver designed the multi-slot bases to be a single-piece design. This will allow a shooter to mount the rings as far forward as he might like and not have any issues.

“The latest offerings from Weaver were specifically developed to be compatible with the Savage Axis rifles that feature the new receiver which requires a larger 8-40 screw,” said Monte Koenigs, product manager for Weaver. “These rifles are quite popular and now consumers have even more mounting options including a 20-MOA base that is canted down to allow for more elevation adjustments at extended ranges. Each scope base is made in the USA and makes for a great match for any Savage Axis rifle.”

The new Weaver multi-slot bases carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $16.95 which is a real bargain for a bulletproof American-made product.
